Itchy Rash on Face

I have an itchy rash on my face.  At first I thought it might some sort of bite until they started popping up all over.  My other family members do not have any type of bites either.  They are itchy and then after a day or too become extremely dry.  I had a few pop up on my arms yesterday too.  Could this be hives?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be allergic reaction, hives or eczema. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. Also Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

Application of steroids is also helpful but it needs prescription from a dermatologist. If the symptoms are not subsiding by antihistaminics, then you need to consult a dermatologist and get steroids prescribed and other possibilities ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello:

It could be hives, but skin conditions can lead to mistakes and your post lacks much information. If I may suggest read the questionnaire I am enclosing, it will help you know exactly why you have that rash and what it is.

Follow the advice regarding seeing a doctor, it could be an allergic breakout, sorry I am not a doctor so I can hardly help out on what it is you exactly have. Remember you should not take medicines without a doctor's prescription instead of helping those can cause problems.

I hope it will help you know if hives or not.

Best regards.
