May be a bite or rash - Don't really know.

I am not sure if this was from a bug bite, a rash, or a skin infection. About 5 days ago two spots on my right leg started itching a lot, and from the picture links below you can see they have gotten real big. I thought it might be a bite from some type of bug at first, but now I just don't know because of the size they have grown to. The first two days I tried using "maximun strenght cortizone 10 plus" with no improvement, and the last two days I have been using "triple antibiotic ointment plus" with basically no improvement or very little improvement.

Can anyone tell from the photos what this might be?

Also, I would like to know if there are any other suggestions on treating it with anything else?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,
For such kind of scars, various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment are useful. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

If I could have gotten your reply earlier I would have tried to do what you are saying to try to do for me. That did not happen so I guess that there is not much more I can do now.

I continued on using the triple antibiotic ointment along with a band-aid, and eventually it cleared up somewhat. I still have a mark on my leg but it lightened up, but mainly it has stopped inching. The marks on the two spots that were left will probably never go away, because I have extra sensitive scar tissue, and scar from just slightest scratches. Is there any non-prescription scar removal ointment or cream that I can use that might help lighten up the mark it left?

Hello,
It is unlikely to be a fungal infection. From the symptoms it can be insect bite, lichen planus or contact dermatitis skin. Take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin if there is any itching and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also wear cotton clothes and apply a topical antibiotic cream like Bactroban. If the symptoms are worse then get it examined from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

Maybe if my problem would have been on my penis I could have gotten someone to look at my pics and my an opinion.

It is looking a slight bit better tonight. Continuing with triple antibiotic ointment plus again tonight hoping for more improvement tomorrow. I wish somebody would take a look at my pictures, and give an opinion on what it might be.
