Extreme itching after a skipping shaving

Every once in a while, after shaving my legs, I will experience EXTREME itching as my skin dries. After three years of this I think that I have finally found a pattern but first I want to clarify that I have tried everything: brand new razors, slightly used razors, several shaving creams, body wash, ivory soap, handmade soap, no soap just water, then I tried treatments: Benadryl, Benadryl cream, lotion, aloe vera, coconut oil, and even a prescription numbing cream! NO RELIEF!
So I've been paying very close attention to instances of the itching and I found that my legs only itch after shaving when I haven't shaved the previous day. So for example if I shave every day in a week- no problem, but if I shave on Monday, skip Tuesday and then shave on Wednesday, Wed will be followed by unbearable itching.
Does this even make sense?! Help please
