Mystery, sudden, spreading skin rash. Wedding next week. Help!

Hello, a group of friends went on a hike on the 26th of August and 3/7 people developed an itchy rash about a day or so after (so, quickly). The rash has spread for the three people, and one of the infected people say that their partner is now infected over 1 week after the initial onset (their partner did not go on the hike). First they thought it was poison ivy, but it doesn't make sense how the non-hiker is now infected 1.5 weeks later. Other docs said scabies, but it doesn't make sense how 3 people got it all suddenly when the incubation period is 4-6 weeks. All 3 are in a wedding next week... help!

It almost sounds like it could be inpetigo. It is highly contagious but completely curable.
