PLEASE HELP DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG

Hello, i had a lot of flakes or what looked like dandruff in my scalp. When i noticed this i poured vinegar on it and it burned actually made it red. I had previously had a compulsive thing of washing my skin with isopropyl alcohol 91%. I think i did that to my scalp on that side. I went to dermatologist to see what is was. I was too embarrased to tell of the alcohol incident so i just said i was under anxiety and stress. The doctor gave me ketoconazole foam, 2% and a rx for Ciclopirox shampoo. When i apply the foam it burns a bit but the shampoo is a bit better. What i would like to know is why did she do a fungal skin culture? And your suggestion on what the outcome might be. Also i been suffering from anxiety and stress. Im even anxious of the results i have to go back in 3 weeks. Please can someone explain to me if i need to tell her the whole thing or what the actual problem could be.

Ps sometimes my scalp burns soo much that i had to put ice on it then oatmeal to go to sleep thank you

Thank you that makes a lot of sense because i recieved a hair cut two days before i noticed that i had problems there it seems as if the lack of hair washing and knowledge led me to this problem. Since i wiped my skin on that side with 91% isopropyl alcohol and then the next day i poured white vinegar on my head. Did that aggravate my condition?
