Penis Psoriasis need advice

Hi I'm 18 years old and have Psoriasis on my penis head, shaft, and foreskin.  I am uncircumcised and have never had sexual intercourse.  I did have balanitis a couple years back, maybe thats what contributed to this condition.  None of my parents have it so its not genetic.   My penis looks scarred and was wondering if I should go to the doctor or if I can use OTC 1% Hydro cortisone. Will that cure the Psoriasis and make my penis look normal.  This is an embarrassing condition and I cannot even have a sexual relationship with my girlfriend because I'm scared of what she will think.

Thanks.

I bought the 1% hydrocortisone however I found some maximum strength OTC still 1% but it is enriched with  with Vitamins A and D, with Aloe.  Would that be better?  Also would applying it once daily be sufficiant?

Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Psoriasis of the penis should be treated judiously because excess exposure of the area to steroids can cause thinning and damage of the delicate penis skin. You can treat it with milder steroids such as 1% OTC hydrocortisone and prescription hydrocortisone with iodoquinol creams, Protopic and Elidel. Stronger steroids may be used sparingly for very short periods of time under close of the dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
