Problem is, I've never had the Chicken Pox, and Shingles is painful, not itchy...
Thank you, but as of yet, I have never been allergic to anything. It did turn up after me using a new soap, but it hasn't gone away at all, it's actually still spreading. And they do occasionally itch, so Shingles may be it. Thank you for your input!
Hmm. Well, do be honest I don't think it is rosacea. It would be odd for it to suddenly inflame out of nowhere. Sudden breakouts are generally caused by, as you suspected, an allergic reaction to something you've ingested or applied to your body. I'm assuming you've investigated what you may have had a reaction to. If not, eliminate any possible food intolerances from your diet (new vitamins/supplements? Sweeteners? Spices?) or products that may be to blame. Triamcinolone Acetonide is used for treating skin disorders such as psoriasis, rosacea and exzema, so if it is not helping you, then a skin disorder is probably not the issue.
The next thing to look at is Shingles (which is related to chicken pox) or another type of virus. I personally broke out in a rash a few years ago that covered me from head-to-toe and was similar to yours. The doctors gave me a cream as well and it didn't do squat. They never did find out what kind of virus I had. But, within a couple weeks is had slowly disappeared.
As long as you are not in pain, I would continue to apply the cream anyways, and try get in for another visit for some testing. Don't leave until they give you answers!
Such an itchy rash which comes on suddenly and appearing on the whole body is most likely due to an allergic reaction. The other possibility is of a viral infection. Oral antihistaminics like Benadryl and topical steroids are also helpful. Wear cotton clothes and avoid scratching. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
