Persistent foreskin rash

Hello,
I was diagnosed with balanitis(tight foreskin, red rash on the inner foreskin, etc) I used a anti microbial+anti fungal+steroid cream for 6-7 days and all the symptoms completely went away and I was normal. But when I stopped using the cream the very next day I developed a smaller lighter red rash on the inner foreskin which burns when I urinate. But this one is not going away with the same cream. What could this be?? What meds should I use?? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I don’t think that it is herpetic rash at least from the symptoms. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist as the diagnosis needs to be confirmed.
I hope it helps. Take care and God bless.

Today I went to a doctor, a senior of mine at my university who is doing PG. He told me to take Acyclovir 100mg twice daily and Flucanozole 50mg twice daily for 5 days and anti bacterial cream to be applied on my foreskin. He also advised twice daily use of cotton swaps with 70% alcohol to be applied on the affected area. As I received oral sex from girl with herpes he thinks it could be herpatic rash. And said if the symptoms do not go away in 3-4 days he will conduct tests.
Please tell me what do you think.

Ah thank you very much. It was fungal initially and the anti fungal cleared it up completely. It even cleared up the initial red rash.
The new one is weird and becomes more irritating and red when i rub it with my finger. If i leave it alone for some time it become less red and with no irritation.
I will follow your advise. Thanks again very much doctor.

Hello,
It looks like balanitis only. Use the cream that you are using for a few days more. Also topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and oral antimicrobials and steroids prescription. A biopsy of the skin scrapings can be taken for exact diagnosis and antimicrobials prescription.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
