Pimples Or Molluscum Contagiosum?

I have had a lot of acne in the past but recently (past few months) I have had what looks just like pimples on my chest/neck/back of neck and where my butt cheack begins and some around my butt. Could this be regular acne? it looks like it, basically little red dots. Some have whiteheads on it and some are just red. or coud this be something else? Molluscum Contagiosum? anything other then that? I also have few bumps toward the wayyyyy back of my tounge that are the same color as my tounge is. what could this be? are any of these serious? I also have red bumps sometimes on my legs but I think these are due to shaving that don't seem to go away. I am not sure about this either.

I have molluscum contagion near my pubic area (which has been diagnosed by a professional).  Lately I've been getting small bumps that look like pimples on my face, and I've had no pimple problems there for years.  Is there a way I can know if it is molluscum without visiting a doctor so I can treat it properly?

Hi, I currently have molluscum and have had it for about 6 months now. I thought all bumps had gone away and then a few days later a bunch more popped up after treatment. Has yours completely disappeared by now? & if so, what did you do to get rid of it. Thanks!

how long does the chancre usually last for? and can it be in the mouth? what does the trunk of the body mean? it is on my neck and is pink but some have white heads on them. does that sound like a syphillis rash at all, would a syphillis rash look like acne or follictious?? I also had some on my breast and between my breast. also on my neck. and like I said around the crack of my butt and on my butt. all are scattared. and not really anywhere else I can tell besides those places. thank you again. I hope you can answer this. I wish you the best Doctor.

Hello,
It is very difficult to differentiate acne and folliculitis without examination. So pls consult a dermatologoist to get it examined. In syphilis, the primary lesion or chancre is a firm, painless skin ulceration localized at the point of initial exposure to the spirochete, often on the penis, vagina or rectum. This lesion heals spontaneously after 4-6 weeks and then a symmetrical reddish-pink non-itchy rash appears on the trunk and extremities. From the symptoms,it doesnot sound like syphilis but for folliculitis or mooluscum, the diagnosis can be confirmed only after examination.
I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Kind regards.

Thank you for your help again. Is it easy to distinct acne and folliculitis? I have great anxiety about STDS could any of this be caused by an STD? could it be something else other then what you have stated? Are what you stated contagious to anyone else? Sorry I have horrible anxiety lately. Thank you again for your help.

Hello,
Mupirocin and Neosporin are antibiotic creams and are available over the counter. The skin colored bumps on the back of tongue can be circumvallate papillae. They are located along the circumvallate line and contain taste buds that confer the sense of sour and bitter to the back of the tongue.

I hope that helps.Take care and regards.

also one more thing are those things you said (Mupiropcin and Neomycin) are these over the counter? can I get them at the pharmacy? Thank you once again. It might take me a while to go to a skin doctor because of money and because like I said before I have a lot of other things going on health problem wise that I am in the mist of taking care of. I am looking foward to hearding from you again.

Thank you very much for responding. So you don't think this is normal pimples? I have put some over the counter acne medicine on my chest to see if it was pimples I put Clearasil stayclear on which is a white medication that is over the counter and it really dries out the skin. It sort of seems to be working on the top of my chest. It is also in the middle of my breasts and on my breast I am not sure if it is acne or not. They are red/pink bumps with some white heads on it. Could it be because it is hot and summer time and I am getting more acne then usual? Would this be on the back top of my neck too and on my butt? also near the crack of my butt and some on my butt? Also is this contagious in any way? I don't have a skin doctor since we have new insurance now but I will try to get one. a lot has also been going on and Ive been to so many doctors lately about many things :-(

Hello,
From the symptoms the bumps on the body sound like folliculitis. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).

Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case.
I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
