Please Help !!!!

Dear Friends,

I had a blood test done in Sep'09 to fulfill medical requirements for my employers, few days after that I a fungus infection on my groin area which went away within few days..along with mouth sores..but I examined development of some burn like rashes on my hand and stomach.....which I though are just because of change in climatic conditions or so, but they kept on increasing not on my stomach but on my hand to forearm....so I consulted doctor who told its lichen planus....now somewhere i read lichen planus can be related to hepatitis C, this is what haunting me, as i told you earlier about the blood test, i came know that was performed by the person who was diagnosed with hepatitis which i came to know from path lab when i went there again for some medical requirement for visa purpose....Hope this lichen planus has nothing to do with hepatitis.....

Regards

Sam

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Lichen planus is an inflammatory disease that affects the skin and the oral mucosa, and presents itself in the form of papules(flat spots) or rashes. The exact cause of lichen planus (LP) is not known. Some people propose it to be genetic in nature. Hepatitis is not contagious through skin to skin contact and hence this being the cause of lichen planus are very less.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
