Please help! Severe Inflammation

About 2 months ago, I rubbed the tip of my penis head too hard against my underwear and got severe inflammation.  I am still feeling pain and burning sensation at times even after the two months.  I have also noticed that the skin changes color, texture and form at different times.  Is the skin still trying to heal?  Do you know about how much longer does it take for the skin to completely heal?

There are times where the pain and burning sensation is just unbearable.

Thank you very much for your help.  I really appreciate it.

Dear Doctor,

I am really worried that maybe the pain and burning sensation will not go away.  It has been two and a half months now and at times the penis skin still looks inflammed and irritated.  I am really worried and sometimes the pain is just excruciating.

Thank you very much for your help.

Dear kindd,

Yes, I am really worried right now.  It has been 2 and a half months already and I still feel pain and burning sensation in that area.  I have seen a urologist last week and he said it looks okay.  He did not prescribe anything and maybe just want to let it heal by itself.  However, I have been struggling with this for 2 and a half months and it has really taken its toll.  I am worried that maybe pain will not go away?  What really worries me is that sometimes the skin will still look awful but sometimes it will look okay.

Thank you very much for your help.  I really appreciate it.

Hello,

Since the symptoms have been present for a pretty long time,so balanitis needs to be ruled out. Balanitis is an inflammation of the glans penis. As for the wet compresses, wet a small towel in warm water and apply it on the penis. Also consult a dermatologist to get balanitis ruled out.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Dear kindd,

Can I ask you what is a good way to apply warm compresses over the inflammed area?

I have also noticed that the inflammed area changes color, texture and form at different times during the day.  It is quite strange.  I feel that it looks particularly awful in the morning.  This has been going on for 2 months now.

Thank you very much for your help.  I really appreciate it.

Thank you very much for your response.  What concerns me is that this has been going for 2 months and seems like the inflammation is still present.  How much longer do you think will be needed for the skin to completely heal?  Sometimes the pain and burning sensation is excruciating.

Thank you very much for your help.  I really appreciate it.

Hello,

Definitely the pain will go away once the inflammation subsides.Just apply warm compresses, don’t mess with it and take some anti inflammatory analgesics like diclofenac or acetaminophen.Once the inflammation subsides, the normal color and texture of the skin will be restored. If the symptoms persist or worsen, then pls consult a dermatologist as antibiotics may be needed.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.

Dear kindd,

Thank you very much for your response.  I have been to the dermatologist and he said it looks okay.  However, I told him that I am still experiencing pain and burning sensations at times.  He did not prescribe anything for me.  Will the pain go away eventually?

Another thing that I am worried about is the appearance.  Right now, it is apparent that the rubbed area is severely inflammed and looks awful at times.  There are also 2 deep wrinkles that formed.  Are there any ways to restore the skin back to the way it was before?  Perhaps cosmetic surgery?  I am really worried about this too.

Thank you very much for your help.  I really appreciate it.

Hello,

The skin of the penis esp the glans is very delicate and sensitive. So any friction rub or chaffing will cause its injury and inflammation. Chafing occurs when the skin becomes irritated by the friction caused by rubbing – either against other skin or against a foreign material.

Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments.Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist
I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
