i have had surgery on both armpits for this condition and have undergone some antibiotic treatment too. Problem is, i still have the small bumps on my groin and acne breakouts on my face, both of which become so itchy, full of pus and uncomfortable especially during menstruation. I don't know what to do!
Hi,
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a disorder of the apocrine sweat glands. These glands usually become active at the onset of puberty and are usually localized in the armpits and in the groin area.Blockage of these glands may lead to lumps or bumps that are fluctuant or soft and may at times present as pustules ( bumps containing pus).
The diagnosis of this condition is usually clinical. They may be misdiagnosed as infection of the hair follicles .However, the lesions of hidradenitis usually responds poorly to antibiotics. They usually recur in the same area few to several times in a year.
