Red blisters on penis head

I have regular unprotected sex with my girlfriend about 6 times a week, but we have not slept together for about 10 days.. and About a week a go I noticed two pin-head sized blisters on the head of my penis and then the next day they really started to itch and burn especially during urination, then I noticed that another 2 more popped up right on the base of the penis head. After about 3 days, there was pungent (like a dead rat) smell coming from that area, which totally freaked me out. Now the base of my penis burns, itches and when I pulled the foreskin down, the inner layer was red and there was a yellow pus like fluid there. I am really freaking out about because I cant go the doctor just yet because my insurance has not come through yet...  and I hope someone can help before I go and visit a doctor.

Hi,

This sounds like a case of balanitis. Balanitis is a penile condition that usually involves the glans or the penis head. Uncircumcised men have increased chance of getting the condition. Balanitis is not necessarily a sexually transmitted disease. Sexual activity however may contribute to the condition. It may encourage fungal and bacterial infection which may cause balanitis.

In your case, the presence of a significant sexual history should warrant further evaluation with regards to STD's. Although this is unlikely in your case, it has to be ascertained that STD causes have been ruled out. A culture of the discharge may be needed. This sounds like a bacterial or fungal infection. Your physician may request for a urinalysis with the culture just to rule out an underlying UTI .

Is there any itchiness in the area?

Is the condition associated with a rash in the groin?

Do any of the small bumps involve the hair follicles?
