What should I do with some red spots on my penis?

Hello,

In the past week I noticed several red spots on my penis. They are not itchy or painful in any way. A doctor diagnosed it as dermatitis and prescribed Betacorten G, which has Betamethasone and Gentamycin as active ingredients. However, the insert says not to use the ointment on the genitals. Further, I fear the steroids will have unpleasant side effects. Would love any input. Thanks in advance!
