Hi

You may apply the cream thinly over the areas and see if the skin condition responds. If the condition is unchanged after 2 days, then this may not be a fungal infection. Blood tests to rule out STD's may be necessary due to a significant sexual history. Do not apply alcohol as this may cause further irritation. Do not apply the antifungal medications over areas with broken skin or excoriations.

Hi
Yes,  a few days ago I was drunk and I slept with a prostitute. This is the first time that I make such a mistake and I am very very nervous, however I used a condom. Last year I had fungus on my chest but this one is different. It appeared a few days ago after I slept with that prostitute. There are two of them on the right side of my body and two of them on the left side. This one is dark and is apparently infectious but the other three are just red. I have some clotrimazole 1% from before. Do you think that clotrimazole or alcohol can help? Because I am definitely going to see a doctor in a few days but I am on a trip right now.
thanks for your help

Hi

This acne that you are referring to may actually be folliculitis. Folliculitis is a skin infection involving the hair follicles. This infection is caused by a bacterial infection. This skin condition is contagious and it is necessary that you treat them early on. Another differential is a razor burn. If you shave the area frequently then you may be getting razor burns caused by the hairs as they grow. This would cause burns on the area much like acne. Another consideration is a fungal infection of the folliculitis type. They may present with reddish bumps on the skin and appear to be similar to folliculitis.

May I ask if you have been sexually active or has engaged in unprotected sexual activity lately?
