I am only supposed to take the pills for a whole week as perscribed by my Doctor so what else can be done???? and is it related to my Herpes???????? please advise someone!!!!

Continue with acyclovir for the rest of the week. There are also acyclovir creams that could be applied topically. However, acyclovir cream does not eliminate the herpes virus, it is not a cure, and it does not prevent transmission to others. It works by stopping viral replication. Ask your doctor about this option. If the rash persists, inform your doctor about this for further evaluation.

Definite diagnosis of herpes lesions includes obtaining samples from the sore and evaluating it or with blood testing for antibodies. Continue with the medications your doctor prescribed and have regular follow-up appointment.  The rash should resolve but in herpes infection, there is the tendency to recur.

Hi,

How did you got to know that you are affected with Herpes??

If its then it would get clear with Acyclovir. either using Zovirax tablets or Herpex cream applying to affetced area. Any how to reconfirm do a HSV2 check again after 3 months post the infection to detect the antibodies.

Thnks
