Shouldn’t this rash be gone by now???

I’ve been fighting a severe rash for over 2 years now. Around 2 months ago, I finally got a diagnosis. I was told that the rash was actually a Group A Strep bacterial infection. I was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg twice a day for a month. By about the third day of the antibiotics, I was amazed at how much it had cleared up. But a short time after, I started breaking out all over again. They come and they go. I don’t exactly understand the recurring sores, while on antibiotics. Shouldn’t it have been gone by now?

Sometimes you may need more then one dose of antibiotics or a stronger one if you see the issue return.  Give your doctor a call and let them know it's come back.  Let us know how you are doing!

I am taking Amoxicillin and Bactrim DS right now. My dermatologist told me that it could take a while to get rid of. But, I wasn’t expecting it to keep coming back.
