Thanks for the reply, I saw a doctor about it today and he suggested to keep it covered in gauze to allow it to breath and be protected aswell, I still think there must be a better way though.
Funny, it seems to always be my right leg that gives me issues.
My son is also diabetic and suffers from the same toe problems. He's 20.
He had both big toe nails removed, and he's going through the same thing as you.
It's really up to you on how you would like to be treated.

Try the alternative therapies forum for some ideas on non-medicinal treatments.
If they say anything that may conflict with things you know better than to do ( such as telling you to eat sugar ) then see your doctor.
