It appears it is herpes.
Let me just say that condoms do not work as well as people think.
The typical symptoms are not what everyone gets.
The "2 - 14 days is when symptoms show" is bunk - I got symptoms UNDER 24 hours.
I have never had a typical outbreak, just skin redness no blisters, but yet the blood test is positive.
Life *****.
Thank you VERY VERY much for replying. I have two doctors that seemed to have given up with me and seem to say it is all in my head - I wish it was then I would tell it go away! But at least they are willing to refer me to the dermatologist – I don’t know what else to do if she also finds nothing.
My primary care Doctor ran some blood tests, which I need to find out what I they were, but I do know diabetes was not one of them. I know they all came back normal BUT without knowing what they were, me mentioning them doesn't tell anything.
I am a very light drinker, maybe two a week, if any, so that should rule that piece out.
The dermatologist prescribed triamcinolone acetonide cream but for the scrotum and butt cheek use, no mention of the issue around the anus, in the creases, and lips. I don't want to doubt and not follow what the doctor said so I'll keep using it until I see her again in 4 weeks.
I'll find out what the blood work was done and ask if it was thyroid plus ask for blood sugar work to be done.
I'll try the B12 and also see how that does.
I'll also buy some vitamins for less possibility of malnutrition but I don't think my eating habits are that bad.
Today when I woke up, the skin on the joints of my hands felt warm and itchy while the skin of the knuckles felt swollen. My anus area seems basically fine right after a shower but within 2 hours feels raw and by the evening it is red (which doesn't bode well for proving to the doctors that there is an issue there).
What I can not wrap my mind around is WHY it all started within 24 hours after the sexual contact. That is the main reason I think it is a contact thing - like maybe a fungus.
Plus it has a progression. It started on the scrotum, moved to the anus area and then the creases around those areas. Then seemed to be systemic. So my thinking is whatever it is couldn't it have been absorbed by the skin in the anus area and then spread to cause the issues around the eyes, lips, creases at the wrist, and fingers feeling a bit swollen at times?
I'll have to ask the dermatologist if there and any cultures she can do.
But for the next three weeks I don't know if any progress will be made figuring things out since I won't see a doctor but I'll let you know how things progress with your suggestions and if things get better or worse. And knowing how things have gone in the last two months how it spreads/changes.
Hello,
For such symptoms dermatitis skin and parasthesia should be ruled out. Parasthesias are common in alcoholics and metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidismThey can also be due to peripheral vascular disease, vitamin B12 deficiency or malnutrition.
Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the tingling is gone or not.
In case the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
