Skin flaky/scaley/reall weird

So I recently realized I have really weird, flaky, scaly, sort of tanish pubic/pelvis skin. I went to the doctor and he gave me Hydrocortisone and I was wondering how long it will take it to work? And Im wondering if there is a term for this, the doctor said it was possibly a allergic reaction, but wouldnt it have gone away by itself?

Well its been a week and the scaley and flakyness has gone down
but the color has not improved, is that normal?

It could take a week or so. But if you are still in contact with the cause, it won't help. Change your laundry detergent to an allergen free detergent. Don't use bleach, fabric softener or dryer pads. They cause a lot of problems. Try changing your soap to an all natural fragrance free soap.
This could also be eczema or fungal.
