Tattoo over Suttons Halo Nevus (moles)

Hello,

I was wondering if it is safe to get a tattoo over a Suttons Halo Nevus moles. I have several of those white circles where moles used to be, on my back and one on my belly. I got them when I was a teenager and ever since they bothered me. When I got diagnosed, my dermatologist told me that there was a possibility for pigmentation to return, however it has been ten years since they first appeared and nothing has changed. I feel very uncomfortable when I wear a bathing suit and so I want to cover them up with tattoos. Thus my question is: Is it safe to do it over those white circles? Some of the moles haven't completely disappeared, but normally, I would tattoo around them, but I was wondering if it was dangerous to get ink in those white areas.

Thank you in advance

I have done a tattoo over my three halo nevus spots on my back. I have done it last year in August and I haven't got any problems so far. It's great. Here are pictures of spots on the back and tattoo that covered them:

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Suttons halo nevus is a benign skin lesion that is a result of a common melanocytic naevus undergoing an inflammatory process, such that a zone of depigmentation surrounds the mole. You can get a tattoo over this mole. Other treatment procedures include laser treatment and topical tacrolimus.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
