Tattoo

I got a tattoo on March 14, 2011 in Los Angeles; and the last day I was out there, little bumps appeared on around the tattoo design. When getting back to my hometown, the little bumps are disappearing; but now where color is suppose to be; theres no color. its just my skin, as  you can see in the picture I posted. I went to the hospital last night and the doctor said it looks like had a allergic reaction. The doctor told me to take benadyrl for the itching. I been using aquaphor to see if it will heal it quickly. Does it look like I need to go to a dermatologist to have it removed or what can I use to heal it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like an allergic reaction to the inks of the tattoo. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion or mild steroid cream on the rash. If the symptoms are severe then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist as oral steroids may be needed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
