Tender "bump" on pubis

I had hip replacement surgery in late May.  I have this small growth (looks like a blackhead) about 1" above my penis.
I am aware of the tenderness 24/7.  Sometimes it feels like an insect sting.  It has persisted for 3-4 weeks, but
there has been no change in appearance or pain intensity.  I just looked at the 21 photos of various skin
conditions(on this site), and my "case" appears closest to MRSA.  Is this a possibility?  Is a dermatologist the correct specialist for me to see?  Thank you!

I appreciate very much your advice.  The "bump" it turns out is
a hernia.  I am scheduled to see a general surgeon on 9-16.  I have
always carried fat in the pubic area, which disguised my real condition.
This site prompted me to see my pricare MD.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These tender bumps can be due to infected hair follicles or boils which are caused by staph bacterial infection. Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
