Tiny Red Itchy Spots

For many months now i have been facing these red itchy red spots all over from my lower stomach, butt-ox, legs, feet, arms, front and back of hands, almost everywhere except my face. They itch extremely bad at most times to the point to where i cannot resist, drives me crazy. Sometimes i cannot sleep at night, or wake up in the middle of the night because of this. (2) Benadryl usually helps me sleep, but after hours when i wake up them seem to come back. They randomly come and go, one day i wont have any, then the next ill be covered all over. When some are scratched they tend to bleed very little, and my skin is always dry and scaly near the webs of my fingers. After taking a warm shower, or getting in a hot car they tend to inflame all over my forearms. Ice, or staying in cooled areas seem to be the most comfortable for me.

I've read through alot of forums trying to understand what this might be but i've came across many things.
First i was thinking they were some type of bug bite.
My second thought was that i am allergic to something, maybe hives.

I have recently obtained a fluffy type cat that maybe the dandriff may be triggering, i have had this problem just on my hands before the cat was born but it is possible that when i was around the mother cat, (1-2 times maybe) it might have triggered it. (i have had many cats before, but not fluffy like this one now)

Another thought was laundry detergent. I have changed detergents 4 times and no change. I have not tried "scentless" detergent.

I have yet to find a dermatologist for the one i was assigned to does not treat patients over 17 and since i have not seen him in a long time they are not going to redirect me to a new doctor.

Hello,
Hives result from dilation of capillaries allowing fluid to leak out into the surrounding tissue, the epidermis. They are of two types:acute and chronic(when hives persist for more than 6 weeks). The most likely triggers for acute urticaria are allergies to pets, horses, latex and foods, such as shellfish and nuts, bee or wasp stings, insect bites, allergies to medicines,Viral infections, such as glandular fever and herpes, dental and sinus infections, fungal infections, blood transfusions and vaccines.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I have been regularly taking my medications and for about a week they have seemed to go away. Well after about a week they slowly started coming back, so i went to a doctor and i was diagnosed with scabies... I was given Permethrin Cream and was told to apply everywhere and wash it off after 12 hours which makes my skin terribly dry (especially since its winter). It's been about a week since then and they still itch which the doctor said they can still itch up to 2 months depending on how bad they are. They dont itch as much, (i can sleep at night now). Within the last couple of days a few more have been popping up on my stomach. Sometimes they randomly still pop up on my legs and when i scratch them it no longer feels pleasant, but instead burns. I am supposed to apply the cream 1 more time, so i will keep you updated if they go away or not.

I did strongly agree that it was hives, because when i got in the sun (heat) red bumps spread everywhere. If i remember right i think you can get hives from scabies, or rather the saliva.

Hi,
One possibility for your symptoms can be hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.
So please get this possibility evaluated.

Till then, take some antihistaminic like Benadryl and apply some calamine lotion. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done by a dermatologist. you may need topical and oral steroids.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I have found out that a medicine i recently have not been taking could well be the cause of my problem. I have encountered rough treatments in the past involving chemotherapy and radiation treatment which caused thyroid problems(Hypothyroidism). Which is too little hormones. I have come to a conclusion that by not taking my medicine as prescribed my hormone levels have dropped causing numerous problems, one of those including unbalanced/dry itchy skin. I live in TX so the heat only aggravates it more. Including certain lotions i have been experimenting with and non-stop showers. Lesson learned : DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR MEDS!
