Wart Calous ??? What is on my finger

I have treated a growth on my finger for 6 weeks with wart medication. I ran into a dermatologist and unprofessionally she told me it may not be a wart but a calous, but she though it was odd that it had a head on it. I began treating it with calous medicine and it now has a hole in the middle. Is that how the medicine works on the calous from the middle ??  I do not have health insurance and really cannot afford to see a dermatologist. An ideas what this thing is ??? I have digital pictures of it but do not know how to post them here.

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it looks like warts. They don’t appear like callus. What you are talking about is common wart or verruca vulgaris which are commonly found on the hands and knees. They are caused by a different strain of the virus which causes genital warts but they are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects used by an infected person.

Exactly what it is can be confirmed only after examination and biopsy.I sincerely advise you to get it biopsied from a dermatologist.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Anything that is not healing, needs to be seen by doctor, A hospital emergency room can not turn you away for no insurance. Calouses and warts DO NOT HAVE HEADS.If it were a pimple of some kind it would be draining and drying out. You could have an infection and you need to be taking antibiotics. Not to scare you, but I have a friend, who's son found a pimple on his back that would not heal. He has NO insurance but is now in the hospital with advanced Melenoma Cancer, Get it looked at. Hope it works out to be nothing.
