What are some airborne viruses that attack lips?

I have been living in Ecuador for 5 months and two weeks ago my lips got inflammed and now I got small bumps on my lips. The doctor said it was from a airborne virus and gave me Poviral. I googled Poviral and it’s used for herpes... I havnt been in sexual contact with anyone & no puss or anything oozing also it doesn’t hurt itch or burn a tingle at most.  so it has me a little worried and would like a better understanding.

Oral herpes is a very common infection and it spreads through salvia or mucus membranes on the skin- it's very common for children to have it even, so it's not anything to do with sexual contact.  Your doctors diagnosis is likely correct, but if the medication isn't working, give your doctor a call and let them know.

she said its a viral infection and not herpes  but poviral is for herpes so I just wanted to know if there was a exact name for what I have. Also I had it for two weeks no discomfort or big blister or puss . I thought it was fordyce at first.
