What are these random red patches spreading on my back?

About 8-10 months ago, I noticed one day after I had gotten out of the shower that I had this very large red patch on my shoulder. To get a better look, I grabbed a hand mirror and saw that there were about 6 red patches all over my back. All of them differing in shape and size but all of them being red, maybe some a red/orange color. And they don't itch at all. No little bumps either, just red patches. I had not done anything different or changed anything in my diet to prompt this.

It still has not gone away and it continues to get worse. It has spread all over my back, and now I'm starting to get small patches on my arms. I've also noticed that the patches are very dry and the skin peels off in those spots, almost resembling peeling skin after a sun burn. What is this?
