What is causing red spots on scalp? (Braids)

I recently got box braids but this time they were super tight so i had to take some down and noticed there was scabbing and red spots. Long story short i got them put back in by another hairdresser; however i noticed that i still have red spots in the places that i didnt get re-braided. These spots arent raised, but they are kind of dry and are mildly painful. Should i wait a couple of days to see if they go away? (It has already been a week since i got them braided the first time.) Will this cause hair loss? I'm freaking out bc i just grew my hair super long and idk what I'll do if these braids end up damaging it. Maybe an allergic reaction. Idk..help lol

Did they use any product on your hair in the process that is something you haven't used before?  To be sure of what those red spots are (they may not even be related to the braids), I'd make an appointment with your doctor so that you can have an in person exam.  This will result in a more definitive answer for you!
