Whtie spots on legs and arms

Six months ago I developed white spots on my legs and arms. These spots aren't raised and don"t hurt but they look strange. Any suggestions?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.

White spots on the body may suggest a fungal infection, pityriasis alba, and vitiligo. Vitiligo presents as white patches which may occur symmetrically in both sides of the body. The borders are well demarcated. As for fungal infections, it presents as white patches of skin with a central scaling. It may not be stark white unlike vitiligo. Pityriasis usually involves children. They present as diffuse patches of whitish spots.

I suggest you have this assessed by your dermatologist. It is necessary to have this evaluated early on. The conditions mentioned vary in terms of management. So it is important that you have them differentiated.
