I am a senior citizen. I HAD two spots, one on each temple. The right was as big as a penny and almost as intense in colour. The left was almost as big as a dime and less intense in colour. I looked like I had undergone electric shock therapy with the electrodes leaving a mark ;-).
For some reason, I got into the habit of dabbing aloe vera on each mark after every shower, and sometimes in the middle of the day when I was washing up. On a rare occasion, I dabbed them with a little peroxide solution if my wife's bottle was in plain view.
This did NOT happen overnight; it took the best part of two years. On the other hand, the amount of $$$ invested never exceeded $10 in total and the progress I noticed in the diminishing sizes and intensity of the spots kept me going. One disappeared about three months ago, the other last month. I don't endorse any particular brand name but the aloe vera gel I used came in a huge bottle with a handy plunger and I think I got it at the grocery store pharmacy. Good Luck !
