I am 22 year old man .I am having itchiness on almost everywhere. After scratching those itching areas it becomes red and bumbs occur. After an hour it goes way .i consulted a doctor and it was diagnosed as Hives.
I am bit worried because i had a deep french kiss and fingering 6 to 7 years back with a lady.Three years back i had red rashes all over my body and it was treated .i am afraid whether this hives is due to ny std .

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
Hives are not caused by any STD.They are caused by an allergic reaction. It is caused due to release of histamine and histamine like products in the blood .The causes are infections, medications, bee/wasp stings, food allergies, environmental allergies, stress, cold temperatures etc. Sometimes the causes are idiopathic. The symptoms of STDs include warts, ulcers, yellow or white vaginal/penile discharge, burning with urination, pelvic pain, bleeding between periods, testicular pain and joint pain etc. You do not seem to have any of these symptoms. These symptoms which respond to an antihistamine are probably hives. If the symptoms are severe and persistent seek the consultation of an allergist for further evaluation and management. Do keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
