discolored spots on scrotum

about a year ago I started to notice that my scrotum was itchy more often than normal, and noticed areas of discoloration on the skin. after vigorously scratching the first couple itch attacks, i would wake up with these thin, sort of scab-like flakes above of the discolored areas. the redness and discoloration has since spread, and now covers about 60% of my scrotum. the itchiness still comes in flare-ups, about once a week, and if I scratch it's the same result: flakes. I have always been a very sexually active person, but normally practice safe sex. I fear that I may have contracted something, and don't want to risk passing it on to new partners. what do i have? and how can i get rid of it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be eczema or dermatitis. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. My sincere advice is to consult  a dermatologist and then start with the treatment which consists of topical and oral steroids and emollients.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
