erosive olp

been suffering with horrible erosive oral lichen planus for about 6-7 years.  i now have lichen planus on both legs...mainly on shins...but lately it has been moving up above the knees.

was put on colcrys when it was thought that my mouth was apthous ulcers, but after reading about it on the internet, i was afraid to take it.  therefore...i'm pretty much back to taking 30 mg of prednisone at least 15 days out of the month.

the olp is debilitating and i'm pretty much at my breaking point.  just wondering if anyone else is suffering from this and what course of action was taken, ie, meds? diet change? vitamin supplements?

"Hello,
Oral lichen planus is an inflammatory condition that affects mucous membranes inside the mouth. Treatment is available only on prescription and consists mainly of steroids, retinoids, hydroquinone and phototherapy. Also sometimes the trigger may be an allergen and in that case, you'll be advised to avoid the allergen, and you may consult an allergist."

i know this...i've had olp for a long time

i have an "exact" diagnosis.  unlike most posters here...i did not ask for an online diagnosis.

thank you very much for the generic answer.
