female losing hair

hi, I'm a 19 year old female and for the past 3 years I've noticed I been losing large quantities of hair on a daily basis.. I'm down to half the amount of hair I used to have and I am not quite sure what it is that is causing it and how I can keep it from happening.

Hi,
It could be due to any number of conditions ranging from nutritional deficiencies to hormonal problems to disorders of the scalp.
If you have irregular periods you should consider the possiility of having PCOS.
You could also be anaemic or be deficient in iron, both of which can trigger hair loss.
Alternatively you could have dandruff or seborrhoeic dermatitis which are dry scalp conditions triggering hair loss.
To ascertain the exact cause you will have to be evaluated.
