how can I treat my rash?

I have a rash that is on the top of my foot.  I think it is fungal, but i wanted to ask before I spray it with an anti-fungal spray.

I cut my foot and had to go to the emergency room.  It was stitched up just fine, and it's doing well, but the rash showed up exactly where the Dr. put medical tape over guaze to cover the stiches.  I was told not to get it wet for 24 hours, so I left that tape on my foot for about 30 hours.  When I pulled it off, nothing showed up for about a day, but now it's really red and itchy and exactly in the shape of the tape.

I've never had an allergic reactions to latex or anything besides bug bites (I just swell up real big), but my skin is very sensitive, and I've had minor cases of athlete's foot and jock itch before.  This sort of looks like a really bad case of it, very red, teeny bumps not very raised- it almost looks like a bad burn.

Please help me!  Let me know if I should try the anti-fungal.  So far I've only put on anti-itch cream and anti-ceptic but it's gotten worse in the last 24 hours.

HIi,
It does seem to be a case of allergic rash, which you could have developed due to the adhesive agent.
You can just take  OTC anti-histamines for the itching as well as the rash.
There is no need to use an anti-fungal spray or an anti-septic.
Apply calamine lotion on the affected area to soothe the irritated skin.
It should settle down in a couple of days.If it persists or increases then you may have to get it lokked at.
