I guess it depends on the age of the patient. I was born with eczema, but the scars faded and disappeared over a few years.
Our body tends to shed old skin and it is replaced with new skin over time.

Normally, if treated promptly, there should be no scarring.
Aloe vera and vitamin E applied to the scar could help, as could shea butter with lemon juice.
There are many ointments, lotions, oils, etc on the market that claim to help reduce scars.
