Can't find cause for this unbearable itch, with no rash or visible symptom.

These aren't like normal itches. These itches can become very powerful and cause me to not be able to focus on anything at all except the itching. They can last for less than 1 minute or they can last 10 minutes. Oh and it's torture when it does last 10 minutes.

I suppose my skin does get red but it might be from the itching. I haven't paid attention enough to it to see if I do get redness from not itching, despite having this happen frequently throughout the past year. The following may seem unusual but I have come up with these conclusions.

The triggers for this seem to be whenever I get uncomfortable or nervous. I'm not sure how emotion can trigger severe itching on my back and chest but it seems to be that way. Unusually in some of my laughs, sometimes I'll feel nervousness instead of happiness when I laugh, and then I start to itch.

I would be very happy to have a diagnosis and cure for this. :)

I believeYou can develop allergies any time in life. If your body takes something that it is sensitive too eventually the body kinda of gives up compensating and reactes with rashes. Rashes are a way the body expels toxines. Like when a person gets bee stings, if enough poison is injected the body goes into shock.
You should go to an allergy doctors and have some prick tests. Also a small biopsey from the dermetoligist can possibly find out what the itch is coming from.

Hi, I have exactly the same as you describe, a powerful itch which can happen anywhere in the body, but no rash ever appears, I have seen a dermatologist and completed a number of tests but they can't find anything and now just left with it and its getting unbearable. I've tried different antihistamines but none of them work, they just send me to sleep! Have you found anything that helps or any explanation?

How come if I'm allergic to something, it just happens randomly throughout the day for a few minutes?

I see. This kind of itching only started a few years ago and it's been most frequent this year. Is it possible to develop allergies later in life? I always thought allergies were related to genetics.

Time to see a dermetoligist sounds like an allergic reation. Some times food or even cloths and body soaps and creams with perfume can bring this out.
