little bumps

I generally get razor burn when I shave my genetal areas, the bumps show up randomly a day or two after shaving.  I noticed a few days ago that I have 3 really small ones side by side.  They kind of look like white heads but they are are so small.  I tried poping one but because it was hard it just turned red all around it.  What could this be?

Hi kindd,

the ointement didnt work and I had an appointment with a dermatologist so I figured I'd ask him about it while I was there.  Turns out it was Mollusca Contagiosa and he got rid of it for me.  Thank you for your help

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

It sounds like folliculitis. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph). It is quite common after shaving.

Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
