I really don't have any informatiion about epidermal nevi...none of his doctors or even the dermatologists he sees have given me anything useful. My son had surgery in March of this year to have some of the plaque removed from his neck. It looks 100% better than it did and now he doesnt have to worry about the itching. He has a long pink scar, but i feel that its well worth it. His lesions on his neck have grown as he does and now it is wrapping around his head on his scalp...this is also very itchy for him. Where the plaque is there is no hair growth..just some "peach fuzz" as we call it. I have heard of some people who have the lesions removed..but they come back and i have also heard of some people who have skin graphs. I hope some of this has helped you....do you know any more than this that you can share?? I too am very interested in learning more about this condition!!
Oh...and yes...my son's nevi continued to get darker as he got older. I'm not sure if that is the same as your daughter's marks.
Hi. I´m from Brazil and I have a 2 yr daughter with epidermal nevi as well. She has plaque on her neck and scalp too. She doesn´t have these syntoms as you described. Sorry, I can´t help with this.
I´m looking for someone with epidermal nevi to exchange informations.
My daughter was born with thick plaques on her neck, arms e legs. but these are "cafe au lait" plaques. But, in the neck plaques got darker as she grew. My question is: Can her "cafe au lait" other plaques become darker as she get older ?
I´ll appreciate a lot, any kind of informations about Epidermal Nevi.
Of course I do have a couple of patients but they are in their 40's and on tretinoin creme.Your son can only be prescribed by the consultant there.
My best wishes.
Thank you for the reply...but calamine doesn't have any effect..the lesion is too thick?? At least that's my guess. I have never been told about the mometasone, i will have to ask about that...do you know someone with this condition? I would love to find someone to talk to about it!!
A dermatologist would probably use mometasone creme for a very short duration (five days) but needs to be prescribed, especially since the child is very young.Calamine is a home remedy for application but to the non-hairy zone.
Do consult your doc.
