post hemorrhoid skin tag surgery

After child birth I have a developed a skin tag at the opening of rectum from pushing and straining to push out my baby. Yes, it is called a skin tag - bigger ones are called hemorrhoids. So, essentially, this is a "post hemorrhoid" condition. The appearing of my skin tag is small, nontheless unsightly and somewhat bothersome when cleaning after a bowel movement. And I would like to have it surgically removed as I do not know of anything else that can be done to remove it.

Please describe in detail the type of surgery that would be involved to have it removed. How is pain level? I heard it was excruciating. How long is the recovery period?

If "hotnewfilm" is reading this, please let me know what kind of surgery you did to have your skin tag removed as I have read your question in this forum under the category "Skin Tag or Scar Tissue". Also, did you ever get your "scar tissue" removed as well? Did you find out what it was?

A month and 10 after my surgery and painful recovery, I have about the same about of new skin tags from the surgery itself as I did prior. My hemorrhoids came back despite taking fiber tablets, magnesium, etc. I thought I would share my experience with everyone.

hello, all.  i just had a skin tag removed 4 days ago.  at first it really wasn't painful, although it doesnt look smooth as i thought it would - very bulbous.  however, the first bowel movement which was the day after surgery was the worst pain i have EVER felt.  two days later (yesterday) i had my second bowel movement and it was worse than the first!  i put a mirror down there to see what was going on and it looks like i may have given myself another hemorrhoid.  is this even possible?????????  please help.  i can't stop crying.  i regret having the skin tag removed.

Hi. I went to my doctor's office this morning for a follow-up visit. She says there is still swelling and that it is all normal. I have bleed, some alittle of discharge, and itching. She told me to start using Mederma 3x  a day and that will help prevent help with the scar tissues and swelling. I will let you know how that goes. Maybe you can ask your doctor about that.

Thank you so much for your response.  Since my post, my swelling has gone down and the pain is just about gone completely.  Although I still have a smaller protrusion, I am trying to be optimistic.  My doctor said that I may have had a thrombosed hemerrhoid during my recovery.  I sure hope not, I can't take anymore problems.  I still take at least 3 sitz baths a day, which seems to help.

I had mine removed on June 21 and I still have swelling as well. Everyone seems to complain about swelling on this blog but no one actually really follows through and let others know they end up.
I myself are afraid that I have sort of skin tags that is resulting from the surgery. I will post again if there is any progress but I have been really distraught by the surgery. My doctor always says the swelling is normal and tells me that when the swelling goes down whatever is left will be more better than what was there.

I had two skin tags removed on June 25th, that was ten days ago.  I still have a lot of swelling at the site of the surgery.  Can anyone tell me how long their swelling stuck around.  It's still the size of a small shelled almond.  I know, it's graphic, but I've called my Dr. and he says that the swelling is normal for the procedure that was done.  I can't even think of this thing hanging around.  I really hope that I don't regret having this surgery.   Thank to you all.
