red scrotum

im 30 years old, about a month ago i had protected sex with a new partner. 2 weeks after i noticed one morning that my scrotum was bright red. i put anti-fungal cream on it it didnt go away so i went to the doctors office in town, she said it didnt look like an std and she gave me nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream a few days later it hadnt let up so i went to the health department to get checked. the doctor that looks at all the stds there said she didnt think it was and std. i havent got all my tests back yet but 2 doctors dont seem to think its an std, what could it be and how do i get rid of it

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it does not look like any STD. It can be atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis or chafing skin. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist and get a skin biopsy of the skin scrapings done to confirm the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

ok ive been using the the nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream for almost 2 weeks and no real sign of clearing up. most of my std tests have come back and were negative. occasionally it looks as if its cleared alot but not for long. i started washing with antibacterial soap also thought maybe that would help. it really has no symtems at all except for the redness, it doesnt hurt, burn, or itch except for the occasional itch but nothing prolonged. it doesnt really bother me at all except for the fact that im worried about it. ive got an appointment with my doctor again on monday and see where to go from there.
