scalp infection

My husband has a very large mass of infected skin & hair that looks  & smells awful!!! It causes him alot of pain!!! It is approximately 3 inches from his neck up & goes all the way across from ear to ear. I have a picture just not sure how to attach it. We cannot keep paying for dr.s when they cant even agree on what it is.  We need to get it taken care of, we have been trying & dealing with it for the last 7 years now. We have to wash our sheets & pillow cases daily because it bleeds & pusses all the time. HELP!!!
          Thanks,
                    Michelle

No its much worse than either of those. I really wish there was a way to attach a picture. It started approximately 7 yrs ago when he got an infection when he got cut by clippers at the barbers. He has seen multipal drs over the yrs, yet none knows exactly what it is. They have put him on antibiotics & creams, etc. some have helped, but nothing has cured it. He is very embarrassed by it. He wears his hair long to cover it. He wants to get a better job but can't due to his long hair.

Did they mention either psoriasis or eczema?
Sounds like it could be one of those.
