skin biopsy on urethra

the dermatologist believes i have lichen planus on the penis caused by trauma to the area during sex. i have had a bump on my urethra and redness around the head of the penis for 8 months now. all std tests have been negative, numerous times, and the doctors say it definitely does not look like hpv, but the incident happened 6 weeks after a risky sexual encounter. the area has been treated with desonide, triamconolone acetonide, and topicort, all corticosteroids which have not really helped. the next step is a biopsy on the bump. they were telling me that because the area was treated a biopsy may not help. i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether or not i should take the risk of a biopsy, and what the chances are it tells me what this is exactly. i dont want to deal with the pain or risk of complication of a biopsy on my urethra if there is not a good chance it helps solve this problem. any help is appreciated, thanks

i think it has to be hpv based on the riskiness of my actions and the timing it occurred, but it is difficult to see it when the penis is not erect, they keep telling me i am worrying about nothing. they said i shouldn't worry about it and they didnt want to do a biopsy because of the location, but it truly was never there until a month after this sexual encounter. what should i do? have it treated like a wart or force them to do a biopsy? if i upload a picture can you give me your opinion on what you believe it is?

Hello,
A biopsy if one of the most confirmatory test for any dermatological diagnosis but it should be initiated before any treatment is started. I would suggest you to follow your dermatologist’s opinion in this regards and if he feels that it is best to get this lesion biopsied then you should go ahead with it.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
