small red scalp spots

my guess is that this is a terrible skin infection...i have had this itchyness for about a month now

i have not put too much mind into this, untill it has bothered my sleep and my regular daily do's.
i did go to a dermatologist and she sayed there was nothing but my side affect to my hair shampoo.

i still think that the cause of it is a skin infection, if anyone has a guess on an easy cure for this...please post

thank you

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.

These red spots on the scalp may be due to a seborrheic dermatitis and yeast infection. Other differentials are psoriasis and lupus. I do not want to alarm you. These are just differentials which means they need to be excluded and shall only be used as a guide for your physician in assessing your condition. I placed them here as a point of discussion.
Seborrheic dermatitis may present with whitish to yellowish greasy scales that flake off. They may present in other parts of the body. Fungal infections are angrier looking and they manifest as red plaques which may crust. The areas affected may show some hair loss. For psoriasis , there may be scaling and some may present as  a red rash in cases of inverse psoriasis. The psoriatic rash  may present also in other parts of the body. Discoid lupus may manifest with a rash on other parts of the body such as the face.

So these are the differentials. A contact irritant or allergic dermatitis appears to be the working diagnosis for your case. In such cases, moisturizing the area and trying to use only mild and bland cleanser or shampoos will be of help. You may cease using products that do not seem to improve the condition. Discuss this with your physician.
