tiny itchy rashes at night

hi Sir, just want to ask regarding the rashes of my husband which start itching from late afternoon. these are very tiny rashes that come out in the legs then hands, back, shoulders and neck. and usually it aggravates after taking a bath at night. in the morning it all disappears. i saw the picture of URTICARIA but it is different bec the rashes are red and raised while in my husband's skin are very tiny ones that are all over the affected areas.

right now he's taking CELESTAMINE and applying BETNOVATE ointment but i want to know what kind of rashes they are and how long will the  itching last. and i want to know also if the drugs given are good for that skin problem or there are other better drugs that will help.

Hope you'll provide me the information i want to know. Thank you.

Hello,
From the symptoms,it sounds like hives. It is characteristic of hives to appear and disappear in a matter of hours.I would suggest you to consult an allergist for this and get skin tests and blood tests like RAST done to confirm whether any allergy is causing such symptoms.Hives can be caused by allergies and viral infections also.In the meanwhile, ask your husband to take Benadryl or Claritin and apply mild steroid cream on the itchy rashes.Application of calamine lotion is also helpful.
Hope it helps.take care and regards.

It is best not to take oral steroids with out confirming the nature of the disease.Cetrizine at bedtime may be safer, betnovate is ok.
