Any Relief for Brachioradial Pruritus?

Seeking others with Brachioradial pruritus. I’m 66 and ’ve had this condition on and off for at least 15 years. I’ve had MRI’s and I have compressed nerves at C3 C4 and also some in lumbar. I’ve had these compressed nerves for 20 years. My neurologist has done all the n erve tests and they are normal. Tried Gabalentin 300 mg morning and 300 mg night, no relief. Tried expensive compounded RX creams, no help. Tried all the over-the-counter creams, no help. Acupuncture, no help. Only relief is applying ice for a long time. The itching is driving me crazy and disrupting my sleep. What have you tried?

Have you ever tried menthol patches?  When ice gives relief, this is supposed to also help.  I know sometimes they use amitriptyline also?  Has that been offered to you?

Yes, I have, they did nothing. Linocain 5% RX cream is supposed to be good, but it did nothing for me. Yes, Amitriotyline too, no help with itching and bad side effects. I think,I’ve tried every RX and home remedy on the market. Thanks for suggestions, really appreciate input.

From what I understand, not much is known of this condition- what triggers it and what can be used to treat it.  Have you ever tried icing the itchy area until the itch goes away?  This one might seem a bit odd, but since you tried acupuncture- have you tried a chiropractor?

Thanks, but as I said, my Neurologist and Dermotologist both attribute it to my compressed nerves in neck. I could itch myself to the bone with no relief, in fact, itching makes it even worse. Yes, I’ve tried a Chirioractor and acupuncture to no avail.  Now they’re suggesting a $400+ cream. A tube only big enough to use about five times! I’m on Medicare with no drug coverage, but this compounded RX would be excluded anyway! Can’t do it. I thank you for your input.
