versicolor returned

well in January I got a prescription for 2% nizoal cream and finally got rid of my tv after about 2 weeks I keep putting the cream on even after the discoloration was gone until it ranout. Last week I felt the areas itching agian and applied tinacin on it (1% tolfuarate) now the tv is back like nothing has happened what should I do I really need it to clear fast. The tinacin seems to have no effect so far and I don't think the nizoal cream will work this time.

Should I ask my doctor for nizoral pills?

update:
the selsun blue actually made it worse for me (areas became darker) and really made my skin dry so I stopped
It's been 7 days now since I went back to the doctor and he prescribed me ketoderm with 1% HC (nizoral) agian he claims he doesn't like prescribing them to people my age.

The area is lightly fading though but I just wished it didn't take so long because it's still noticeable

I had the same problem and I was told to shampoo with Nizoral, then shampoo body with it while in the shower. After you are lathered up, turn off the water and let it on the skin for  few minutes before turning the water back on and thoroughly rinsing. A couple of applications and tv cleared up. Whenever it comes back, I shampoo again with Nizoral. I was able to get it from pharmacist w/o a prescription.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Since the tinea versicolor has returned and the topical antifungals are ineffective, so oral antifungals may be needed for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
