why did my tatto break out

ok i had got a tattoo on my wrist covered up by a half sleeve. and i went back like 3 times to get it touched up. so after the last time it was like 6 months to a yr before i got pregnat and i noticed about a couple months into my pregnacey i started getting a couple little spot on my tattoo. and over time it started to get alittle more. at first it was only on the red part and that was it but not almost 2 yrs later its a big cluster in 2 different spot and a bunch of little spots all over and it seems to be getting more and more. i asked my tattooest and he didnt know he never seen anything like it so he called around to his buddys and some other tattooest said he had to woman do it one after she had the baby and the other while pregnat, he said it was just the hormones in our body that does it  he said to us tea tree oil but that stuff doesnt seem to work, plus it gives me a headache cause it so strong smelling. i have read acoulpe post on here but all of them the people say that there spot itch and mine doesnt and never have itched. im really curious what it is and what i can do to get rid of it. i keep forgetting to ask the doctor when i take my daughter for her check ups. and like is said i never had any problem with it until i got pregnat. i and i also noticed since is started tanning it seems to speed up the bumps but then again it probley isnt it just seems like it. but iv been covering the tattoo with a towel to be safe.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to a delayed allergic reaction to any of the ingredients of the tattoo ink and can be triggered by hormonal changes in body. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin after consulting your doctor( since you are pregnant) and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Could it be the body's reaction to the inks used?

Chances are it is the hormonal changes you're going through right now with the pregnancy. Just because it doesn't itch does not mean it is not an allergic reaction.
You can try an aloe vera gel to calm any inflammation and redness and speed the healing. An antihistamine can also be helpful, but make sure it is okay to take during pregnancy. Your doctor might even have a safe brand to give you on your next visit-- just don't forget to ask him this time! ;-)

Congrats on the baby!
