I was on Lantus and everytime that I took the shot I would get sick about 20 to 30 minutes later... I am also on Metformin I stopped taking the latus and the vomiting stopped and everything is good now that I am only taking Metformin and not the Lantus.... I think that I was having a reaction to the latus and my Doctor told me that my numbers are good so to not take the lantus....
If you believe your are reacting badly to Lantus (or any other medications) you should ask your physician for an alternative, at least to verify it is the medication and not some other factor that is causing the problem. Lantus is popular for it's 24 hour action, but so is Levemir (Novo Nordisk). NPH insulin can also be used for long acting insulin, though two injections may be needed to get the 24 hour coverage. Do not be afraid to ask your physician to work with you to determine if the Lantus is the cause, and get you on an alternative medication if you feel it is the right solution for you. It is your diabetes and your life.

I am not a physician, but the mom of a type one diabetic on the pump. I have not heard of this type of side effect from Lantus. I would suggest you talk to your endocrinologist and tell him, you problem, he might be able to switch you r insulin type or see there are other things causing you to have dry eyes. Several types of medications can cause that condition.
Hope this helps. Pleas let us know how it goes.
