I vote with waverider. And make that a double-vote if you are walking alone or at night. The walk will lower blood sugars even more.
How low is low?
Normal blood sugars are in the 80s and higher. If your blood sugar is only slightly low, a small snack should help and then you can walk.
If your sugars are very low then do not exercise until they are stable again.
The key here is frequent testing to know where your numbers are, and then eating small meals / medication if you are low / high.
You should never exercise with low blood sugars - this includes walking. Test and make sure you're at normal levels before walking. Walking is a very good form of exercise. If you have Type 1 diabetes, you may need less insulin or more food or both when you exercise. Trial and error over time will help you determine what insulin or food changes your body will need for safe blood sugar levels during exercise. Never go walking with low blood sugars, you could feel unsteady or have trouble walking causing a fall. HTH
